-Viv Regan, who works at the News Academy, runs the Young Journalists' Academy, and is managing editor at Spiked
-Darren McCaffrey, Political Correspondent from Sky
-alongside more speakers to be announced.

Alternative Careers Conference

This year, the Alternative Careers Society's Conference will be taking place on the 25th of February in Parish Hall at LSE (PAR.LG.03).

There will be 4 panel discussions on:

  • Careers in International Organisations
  • Careers in the Civil Service
  • Careers in Energy
  • Careers in New Media

Between them there will be skill sessions (2), and a networking lunch, with yummy canapes and drinks, during which students will be able to ask speakers more personal questions, and meet other students with similar career aspirations!

NGOing into a Top Career

Our second event in 2017! Ever considered a career in international NGOs?
On the 23rd of January we are thrilled to host a panel discussion including speakers Lily Caprani, Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF UK, Ceris Turner-Bailes from Aegis Trust (British NGO working to prevent genocide worldwide), and Fotis Filippou, Deputy Director of Campaigns for Amnesty International. 
Following this, we will also have a skill session held by Debora Singer from Amnesty International on campaigning to Save the Human Rights Act.

Come join us to hear about their experiences of having executive positions in these NGOs. Following up the success in our last event, we promise this is an event not to be missed! We promise!

Confirmed speakers so far include:
Dirk Boll: Managing Director Continental Europe at Christie's
Vishal Kumar: Data Analyst at Sotheby's
Jagdip Jagpal: has worked in top positions at various museums, currently freelance consultant at the Senior International Arts Programme and Project Manager, and governor at LSE!
Karolina Walewska: Architecture and Interior Design focused on luxury residential properties in London and Dubai, who has also worked as a branding and marketing consultant in the past.
